Chickpea Chaat Salad

In a large bowl, combine chickpeas, tomato, onion, cucumber, cilantro, and potato if using.

Ingredients (for 4 servings)

  • 1 whole โ€” Salad
  • 2 cans โ€” chickpeas, drained and rinsed • 1 medium tomato, finely chopped • 1/2 red onion, finely diced • 1/2 cucumber, diced • 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped • 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds • 1/2 cup boiled potato, diced (optional, traditional add-in) • 1–2 tbsp crushed crunchy snack (optional topping)
  • 1 whole โ€” Chaat dressing
  • 2 tbsp โ€” lemon juice • 1–2 tsp chaat masala • 1/2 tsp cumin powder • 1/2 tsp salt, to taste • 1/2 tsp black salt (optional, for tang) • 1 tsp tamarind chutney (optional, for sweetness) • 1–2 tsp green chutney (optional, for heat and herb flavor)
